"Scene study" primarily involves individual scenes or monologues from plays or films, which are assigned to the student actors. The instructor directs and teaches their approach using material as the vehicle. The class will have some warm-ups or exercises, but the main focus of their instruction is the scene work. Scenes are explored for clarity of events, individual objectives, timing and intentions. An emphasis is placed on character behavior, activities, inner monologue and emotional life. Exercises are used to help actors dive into a character’s physical and emotional life, increase relaxation and concentration and open up the actor’s instrument and imagination. Personal, thorough and supportive critiques are given about each individual’s work. We keep it fun and creative for the students.  Each class meets once a week.
